Are you ready to be immersed in a dynamic leadership culture? Do you want to build relationships with other young adults? Are you interested in intentional equipping that will prepare you for your future calling?

 

Summer Internship is a 2-month experience that invests in the leadership of young adults (recent high school graduates, current college students, and young adult working professionals).

Internship Opportunities

This summer, we are excited to offer three ministry tracks: Students, Worship, or Production. All experiences will offer hands-on leadership opportunities to prepare you to live out God’s call on your life to carry hope in ministry or in the marketplace.

Student Track

Purpose Statement:

The Summer Internship is designed to expose young adults to a dynamic leadership culture and help them gain first-hand experience and equipping that will prepare them for their future calling.

 

Role Description:

  • Collaborate with the Valley Creek Students Team in implementing the Next Gen vision and strategies through Student Summer

  • Participate in the planning and leading of Gen Hope Night – our largest student gathering and outreach of the year

  • Learn directly from the leaders and staff members of Valley Creek Church on a variety of topics that will stretch, grow and equip you to lead in ministry and the marketplace

  • Participate in weekly encounters and spiritual disciplines that will teach you to grow in your faith

 

Role Requirements:

  • A devotion to the vision and values of Valley Creek Church

  • A vibrant relationship with Jesus and a heart to serve people

  • The ability to self-lead in order to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

  • Experience serving with students or kids is preferred

 

Part-Time: Approximately 25 hours per week unpaid

Worship Track

Purpose Statement:

The Summer Internship is designed to expose young adults to a dynamic leadership culture and help them gain first-hand experience and equipping that will prepare them for their future calling.

 

Role Description:

  • Collaborate with the Valley Creek Worship Team in song writing and growing in vocal and/or instrument proficiency
  • Participate in the planning and leading of Student Summer worship gatherings
  • Learn directly from the leaders and staff members of Valley Creek Church on a variety of topics that will stretch, grow, and equip you to lead in ministry and the marketplace
  • Participate in weekly encounters and spiritual disciplines that will teach you to grow in your faith

 

Role Requirements:

  • A devotion to the vision and values of Valley Creek Church
  • A vibrant relationship with Jesus and a heart to serve people
  • The ability to self-lead in order to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Experience singing or playing an instrument – preferably in a corporate worship setting

 

Part-Time: Approximately 25 hours per week unpaid

Production Track

Purpose Statement:

The Summer Internship is designed to expose young adults to a dynamic leadership culture and help them gain first-hand experience and equipping that will prepare them for their future calling.

 

Role Description:

  • Learn how Valley Creek Church uses audio, video, and lighting technology to create environments that help connect people to Jesus
  • Learn what it means to be a worship leader through technology
  • Become more proficient in programming and operating audio, video, and lighting equipment
  • Gain experience by helping program content for both Student Summer and weekend experiences
  • Learn directly from the leaders and staff members of Valley Creek Church on a variety of topics that will stretch, grow, and equip you to lead in ministry and the marketplace
  • Participate in weekly encounters and spiritual disciplines that will teach you to grow in your faith

 

Role Requirements:

  • A devotion to the vision and values of Valley Creek Church
  • A vibrant relationship with Jesus and a heart to serve people
  • The ability to self-lead in order to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Beginner to intermediate experience using audio, video, and lighting equipment in corporate gatherings

 

Part-Time: Approximately 25 hours per week unpaid

Frequently Asked Questions

The internship will take place from June-July 2025, Sunday-Thursday (including Wednesday evenings) at approximately 25 hours per week.

The internship will take place at our Valley Creek Church Flower Mound Campus.

Throughout this experience, you’ll seek God’s perspective as you discuss several life and leadership topics such as:

  • Leading yourself and others

  • Biblical Worldview

  • Mental health

  • Relational health

  • Sexuality

  • And more

This is an unpaid, educational internship designed to help you grow you as a leader.

The typical internship week will start on Sunday and finish on Thursday, for approximately 25 hours per week. Regardless of your ministry track, you will have the opportunity to engage in weekly staff meetings and get hands on leadership through serving opportunities. There will be many team-based experiences, however the greatest invitation for the summer will be for each young adult to grow as a disciple.

 

Each intern will receive personal investment through classroom teachings, growing in their spiritual practices, and engaging in weekly Circles (small groups) to build relationships with other young adults.

 

It’s an action-packed 2 months that you get to experience with our team and other young adults desiring to grow in character and leadership, just like you!

Applicants must be between the ages of 18-25 and either a recent high school graduate, currently enrolled in college or seminary, or a young adult working professional.

If you are selected, there is a one-time $50 acceptance fee which will cover a portion of the cost of the experience.
