At Valley Creek, we believe our students are gen hope – a generation defined by the hope of Jesus. We believe students have the ability to influence and lead their generation for Jesus and toward Jesus. We don’t just believe they’ll change the world some day; we know they can change their world today. That’s why we have Student Leadership Experience.
Student Leadership Experience is a nine-month journey where students (6th-12th grade) will grow in becoming a disciple of Jesus and learn to lead themselves and others through weekly and monthly interactive experiences.
Throughout the experience, students will practice their faith by completing a training plan designed to help them grow in character and personhood and form lifelong habits of a leader. Each student will be a part of a team, called a pod, that’s led by two coaches.

In the kingdom of God, faithfulness matters and commitment counts. This experience is highly relational and team-based, which means that consistency and active participation are important and absences are significant. We believe Jesus wants to do so much in and through our students, and we don’t want them to miss out on any of it!
Saying “yes” to this experience is committing to:
If students are unable to consistently meet these expectations and commitments at any point during the year, they are making the choice to remove themselves from Student Leadership Experience.
Upon acceptance, there’s a one-time $150 experience fee which will cover the cost of food each week and your Student Leadership Experience journal, Bible, and shirt.
Throughout our monthly experiences, we’ll cover foundational topics that will help students build a strong, biblical foundation, learn practical leadership skills for their everyday life, and deepen their relationship with Jesus.
Sundays from August 31 – May 3
Wednesdays from September 3 – April 29
*The April experience will be on the last Sunday of March
**Dates tentative and subject to change.
Student Leadership Experience is a nine-month journey where students (6th-12th grade) will learn and practice becoming a disciple of Jesus, and learn to lead themselves and others through weekly and monthly interactive experiences.
This is for students (6th-12th grade) who are raising their hand to say, “I want to grow as a disciple of Jesus, I want to rearrange my life around Him and have leaders in my life coach me and help mold and shape me to become more like Jesus”
Throughout the experience, students will practice their faith by completing a training plan designed to help them grow in character and personhood and form lifelong habits of a leader. Examples include learning to initiate meaningful conversations, participating in team-based activities, practicing spiritual disciplines, and carrying hope to other students through serving and inviting.
In the kingdom of God, faithfulness matters and commitment counts. We don’t want students to miss out on anything Jesus wants to do in or through them during this experience. This experience is highly relational and team-based, which means that consistency and active participation is important and their absence is significant.

If at any point during the year, students are unable to consistently meet these commitments, they are making the choice to remove themselves from Student Leadership Experience.
MONTHLY The first Sunday of every month, students will come together from 5:30pm-8:30pm. They’ll work through one of our foundational topics, discuss their learnings, and put them into practice through hands-on leadership labs. (Dinner will be provided starting at 5:30pm)
SUNDAY Every Sunday morning, students will meet with their coaches from 8:30am-9:00am at their local campus. Here they will collectively work on their training plan through interactive experiences and lead the way in the weekend experience.
WEDNESDAY Every Wednesday night, students will come in for Pizza, Community and Serving at 6:15pm. They’ll gather with their team to practice their faith, pray together for the Wednesday experience, and be released at 6:40pm to serve in their assigned roles.
Upon acceptance, there’s a one-time $150 experience fee which will cover the cost of food each week and your Student Leadership Experience journal, Bible, and shirt.
