This summer, we’re spending 60 days talking about enjoying God and the life He’s giving us. But we don’t just want to talk about it – we want to live it. One of the best ways we can do that is through the spiritual practice of celebration.

The practice of celebration is simply paying attention and calling attention to the goodness of God.

This is all about becoming more aware of the goodness of God that’s already all around you. So here’s how we’re going to practice this each week over the summer:

Everyday, Monday-Saturday, simply find a quiet place and take 5-15 minutes to write down one way you enjoyed God, experienced His goodness, or want to express gratitude to Him. Then, share that with God.

“Today, I celebrate ________.”

“Today, I experienced God through _______.”

“Jesus, I am grateful for _______.”

Then, every Sunday, share at least one thing you wrote down that week with someone else in your life (at one of our gatherings, during a family meal, over a cup of coffee – anywhere).

“Hey, ______! This week I’m celebrating _________.”

This doesn’t have to be complicated – it’s simply taking note of what God is already doing then acknowledging and sharing it with Him and those around you. Do this each week, and watch how God builds your faith and the faith of others. God is good to you, and you have a really good life. Let’s become more aware of those truths together this summer!

Pro Tip: Start a celebration journal, and write down all 60 days of your celebration practice in one place. You’d be amazed at how good God and your life really is.
