Online-Only Services This Weekend

Thriving, Not Just Surviving (Online-Only Service | 04/19/2020)

Find Friendship

From time to time we will include conversation starters to help your group find friendship and get the discussion rolling. If you would like, take a couple of minutes at the top of your time together to build relationships and get to know each other better.

Starter Question:

If you could sit and have dinner at any restaurant this week, which one would you choose and why?

We thrive when we are connected to Jesus and His church.

The world is trying to figure out how to survive during this time, but as the people of God, He wants to show us how to thrive. We will thrive by staying connected to Jesus and His church. (Psalm 92:12-14 NKJV) This is not just a principle, it is a promise. When we stay connected to Jesus we, too, will flourish regardless of what is happening in the world around us.

1. Jesus is in the space between

Jesus is not just in the church services, gatherings, and groups. He is always available, and the most intimate times are found when we set aside distractions and make space for Him.

Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

Question 1

What are you doing with “the space between”? Are you filling it with Netflix, projects, and distractions or are you discovering new spaces and ways to experience Jesus?

Share how you have been, or are planning to be, still to make space and know that Jesus is with you.
Suggestions: Literally be still and quiet for 10 minutes to engage the Scriptures or listen to worship music.

2. The name of Jesus changes any atmosphere

As we lift up the name of Jesus, He changes the atmosphere of our hearts and our environments. There is salvation in the name of Jesus. He saves, heals, makes whole, and delivers us.

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

Question 2

In this season, where do you feel like you’re surviving, and where is God inviting you to thrive?

3. Our identity is found in Jesus

Our plans, rhythms, and what we do have changed, but our identity is not wrapped up in what we do. It is found in Jesus.

Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. 1 Peter 2:10

Question 3

What are you discovering about Jesus in this season?
