Listen. Learn. Love. | 06/07/2020

BIG IDEA:

Listen, Learn, Love

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

This week has been difficult for many of us, it’s been a week of pain, grieving, and heartbreak. As you begin
group, take a moment to close your eyes, open your hands and hearts, and ask the Holy Spirit to speak
personally to each person in the group.

1. RACISM IS EVIL

Racism is evil and rooted in darkness, it’s a demonic tool used by Satan to steal, kill, and destroy. Racism has no
place in our hearts, homes, schools, society, church, and world. Racism is a sin. Judging someone because of the
color of their skin is to dishonor them, and to dishonor God. Racism is a rejection of the love of God for
ourselves, and others. We have a good Father who loves us, and because He loves us we can freely love others.

2. THE PAIN IS REAL

So many of our brothers and sisters are hurting and grieving this week and the pain is real. We are all part of the
same family with the same Father and when one of us hurts and mourns we all hurt and mourn. It’s time to listen,
learn, love, and bare each other’s burdens.

Question 1

Where can you reflect Jesus and His kindness into your sphere of influence this week?

3. JESUS IS STILL OUR ONLY HOPE

Hope is here because Jesus is here. Jesus is the Living Hope and hope is still alive and active regardless of what
is going on around us. Jesus is the King of the Kingdom, and in His Kingdom, is righteousness, peace, joy;
justice, mercy, and grace; faith hope, and love. Jesus is supernaturally empowered to heal, restore, reconcile,
and bring us back together; and He empowers us with the same mission (Luke 4:18-19). Jesus is sending you,
and it’s not only an opportunity but a responsibility to bring the Hope of God into this world. You are a Hope
Carrier bringing Hope to every area of life by acting justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly (Micah 6:8). The
blood of Jesus that was spilled out on the cross for us brings very tribe, person, and every nation into unity
under the Lordship of Jesus as citizens of His Kingdom, as sons and daughters of the Father (Revelation 5:9-10
NKJV).

Question 2

Are you treating each person in your life with honor and dignity the way Jesus treats you?

Group Response:

As a group, pray through 2 Chronicles 7:14.

IF MY PEOPLE, WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY AND SEEK MY
FACE AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN WILL I HEAR FROM HEAVEN AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR
SIN AND WILL HEAL THEIR LAND. 2 CHRONICLES 7:14
