December Monthly Gathering

Hey Coaches!

It’s time for our monthly gathering! We can’t wait for this month’s discovery of Prayer!
We can go first in this by… you guessed it…praying for our kids! 

You can start now by praying these over kids, families, yourselves, your co-coach, and Kid’s Directors/Kid’s Team:

– Holy Spirit, we welcome you in!

– God would you help us be aware of Your presence, tonight?

– Open our ears & hearts to everything You have for us.

Here’s a snapshot of the gathering:

• Coach Huddle | 5:45pm 

• Doors Open | 5:55pm (this is 5 minutes earlier this year!)

• Event Starts | 6:00pm

• Pizza/Ice Breakers

• Prayer | 6:05pm

• Game Time “Candy Cane Collection” | 6:07pm

• Here’s how to play: Your coaches are going to spread out some candy canes on the table, and each of you are going to get 1 candy cane that you want to keep as yours. 

• • Make sure kids understand that the 1 candy cane they are given needs to stay in their hands. 
  • The first round will be a practice round – kids will try to pick up as many candy canes as you can only using the hook of your own candy cane. 
  • The second round will be the same thing but with the non-dominant hand! 
  • Ok now for our 3rd and final round, we have the ultimate challenge – you are going to do the same thing, but you’re going to put the candy cane in your mouth and try to collect as many candy canes as you can.

• Discovery Video (Prayer is talking to God about the life we are living together) | 6:37pm

• Leadership Lab | 6:44pm

• • We will be practicing prayer together and it will be so fun! Everyone will be using KLE journals using “The Lord’s prayer”resource on page 189. 

• • Directors will read “The Lord’s prayer” from the front and then everyone will have a change to put that prayer in their own words and experience it together.

• • • • • Our heart for you as coaches is to model it and experience God for yourselves through this lab. Truly practicing being a disciple first who takes responsibility to create kingdom culture. 
  • Pod Discussion and Large Group Discussion | 6:55pm 
    • Questions to ask your pod
      • What is something new you discovered about prayer?
      • What makes you excited about getting to talk to God about everything?
      • What’s one way you can plan to talk with God more in your everyday life?
