Frequently Asked Questions

DO WE NEED TO BRING ANYTHING WITH OUR KIDS WHILE THEY ARE IN THE NURSERY?

We recommend parents bring a diaper bag and bottle/cup, both labeled with your child’s name. Feel free to bring any comfort items your child might appreciate such as a blanket. You will also want to bring a change of clothes for your child just in case.

DO WE NEED TO BRING ANYTHING WITH OUR KIDS WHILE THEY ARE IN PRESCHOOL SERVICES?

Kids move to a preschool room when they are potty trained, so no diaper bag is needed unless your child is still in a pull-up.

CAN I BRING A SNACK FROM HOME FOR MY CHILD TO ENJOY?

For the safety of all kids, outside food is not allowed in the rooms. At each nursery and preschool service, your child will receive a snack. We serve Cheerios and Rice Chex. If your child has a food allergy, we ask that you alert us in advance, or during drop-off.

DO I NEED TO LET YOU KNOW ABOUT MY CHILD’S FOOD ALLERGY?

Yes, please let us know so that we can add it to their profile. While we do not offer food in the room, being aware will allow us to react appropriately if needed. We ask that you alert us in advance by emailing vcckids@valleycreek.org, or during drop-off.

HOW WILL I BE NOTIFIED IF MY CHILD NEEDS ME?

There are two display monitors located on each side of the stage in each Worship Center. Your child’s security number will be displayed if you are needed. If your child’s security number appears on the monitor, please return to the Kids check-in area and a member of our Kids Host Team will direct you to your child. Our team will only contact you if your child is ill or has an immediate need.

MY CHILD HAS SPECIAL NEEDS AND/OR DISABILITIES (SND). WHAT DO YOU OFFER FOR THEM?

Flower Mound and Venue Campuses Only: Our Special Needs and Disabilities (SND) Serve Team is committed to providing a safe and loving experience for kids ages Kindergarten-5th grade. For our 9:30am and 11:10am services on Sundays we provide one-on-one buddies for classroom inclusion. For kids where inclusion is not an option, we have dedicated space – The Chill Zone – where our SND Serve Team will care for and interact with your child while you attend service.

We currently do not have a Special Needs and Disabilities offering at our Denton and Lewisville Campuses.

WHO STAFFS YOUR SPECIAL NEEDS AND DISABILITIES (SND) CHILDREN?

Our Buddies and Chill Zone teams are non-licensed SND Serve Team Members.

IS THERE A PRIVATE AREA AVAILABLE FOR NURSING MOTHERS?

Please check with the Info Center for the location of the Nursing Mothers Room at your local campus.

IS THERE A FAMILY ROOM?

Yes! We have a dedicated Family Room at each campus. We know there are times when your little one needs to stay with you, but they may be too distracting or playful to sit in the Worship Center. Our Family Room is setup for you and your child to stay together and still watch the live service from a large TV.

WHEN IS BABY DEDICATION?

We hold baby dedications twice a year; on Mother’s Day and the first weekend of December. If you are interested in learning more, watch the Events Page beginning about a month before.

CAN KIDS BE BAPTIZED?

We believe that baptism is a personal next step in each child’s journey. Twice a year, we offer a Kids Baptism class where we explore baptism in an age appropriate way. Watch the Events Page to sign up for classes in Spring and Fall. We celebrate Baptism Weekend each year in May and November.

DO YOU HAVE A VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS)?

Kids gather each summer at EPIC – a week-long adventure for kids – where they worship, encounter the presence of God, and take next steps with Jesus together. EPIC takes place in mid-June. Details will be available on the Events Page in April. Register early, space is limited.
