Valley Creek Church

VCC FINANCIAL OVERVIEW

Valley Creek Church (VCC) operates based on the generosity of its members and other donors. As a result, we strive to provide our members with pertinent financial information. That information is provided on this page.

GIVING

There are several ways to give to VCC.  The different options are shown below.

Online Giving (Credit or Debit Card)

On-line giving is available for one-time, scheduled and recurring gifts. You may give your tithe as well as make donations to the Imagine Building and Benevolence funds. Your on-line giving history is also available. To get started, simply create a user account if you have not already done so. You may give a one-time gift, schedule a recurring gift or edit a previously scheduled gift. On-line giving is safe and secure. While the convenience and ease of on-line giving will be helpful to some; we strongly encourage you to give by check or ACH draft if possible. If you would like to use a credit card, please remember that VCC is charged a fee for every transaction processed. We encourage you to practice good judgment with all credit card use.

ACH Bank Draft

A recurring draft can be set up to withdraw your contribution from your checking or savings account. You specify the dollar amount and whether you would like to give on a monthly or semi-monthly basis. You can also specify how you would like your funds distributed. ACH Draft forms are available in the Atrium or may be downloaded from our website. Download Authorization for Tithe form. Simply fill out the form and return it to the Finance Department.

Personal Online Banking

You may use your personal bank's online bill pay service. Please indicate Valley Creek Church as your payee and specify how you would like your funds distributed. Your bank will send VCC a check and it will be recorded in your giving account.

Weekend Services

You may continue to give through our regular offering during our weekend services or mail a check to Valley Creek Church. Offering envelopes are available in the Worship Center and atrium for your convenience.

Non-Cash Giving

Valley Creek Church also accepts non-cash gifts. Examples of non-cash gifts include stocks, bonds, land, jewelry and homes.

FINANCIALS

The Finance Department operates to account for and properly record all financial transactions of VCC. This includes the management and review of the financial records under the guidance of a Chief Financial Officer (volunteer who is appointed by and reports to the Elder Team). Internal controls have been reviewed and are in place to safeguard church assets and ensure the integrity of VCC’s finances.

Audited Financial Reports

In 2007, VCC retained an independent audit firm to audit its financial records for the year ended December 31, 2007 and to review prior years. The audit firm returned an unqualified opinion with no material weakness deficiencies noted. For the years ended December 31, 2008 and December 31, 2009, reviews were performed by the audit firm in order to use VCC’s financial resources in a more efficient manner. Positive reports were also issued for the 2008 and 2009 financial records. The audit firm’s reports are attached below in their original format.

Annual Budget and Un-Audited Statements

Each year, VCC composes and presents its annual budget to the Elder Team for their approval. The budget is used as a guideline to monitor monthly expenses and to ensure accountability in business purchases. The budget may be adjusted as necessary throughout the year based on giving trends. The current operating budget and 2009 year-end un-audited financials are attached below. The internal financials are not prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for administrative reasons.
